Mass Meeting of the Northumberland County Republican Party

OFFICIAL CALL

Mass Meeting of the Northumberland County Republican Party

of the Republican Party of Virginia

 

As Chairman of the Northumberland County Republican Committee, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Jeanne M. Kling, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Northumberland Public Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, Virginia, starting at 7:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 4, 2010, for the following purposes:

 

  1. Electing up to seventy (70) Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Republican Party of Virginia First Congressional District Convention to be held at Caroline County High School, 19155 Rogers Clark, Millford, Virginia 22514, on May 15, 2010, for the purpose of electing a Congressional District Chairman.  Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per (500) Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Northumberland County is entitled to 14 Delegate Votes;
  2. To elect a chairman of the Northumberland County Republican Committee and members of that Committee

 

And for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.

Qualifications for Participation

 

All legal and qualified voters under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

 

Candidates for election for Unit Chairman at said mass meeting shall file a written statement by mail or in person, to Jessica Guy-Haynie, 1938 Walnut Point Road, Heathsville, Virginia 22473, which must be received not later than 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25 2010, and accompanied by a filing fee of $25.00, paid by check made payable to the Northumberland County Republican Committee.

 

There will be no pre-filing requirements or fees for candidates for committee membership or delegate to the First Congressional District Convention.

 

There will be a voluntary registration fee of $15 those registering for delegate to the First Congressional District Convention.

 

There will be a voluntary registration fee of $15 for those filing for membership in the Northumberland County Republican Committee.
